At Tamworth Complete Dental, we believe that change starts with us. Every time we as consumers spend money, we are casting a vote for the type of world we want in the future. That’s why we have taken steps to run our clinic in a way that minimises the damage to the environment. We strive to be as eco-friendly as possible for a more sustainable future, as well as use our resources to give back to environmental and social causes around us. But sustainability isn’t just about the environment – it is about re-thinking the way that we approach healthcare. We work together with our patients so that they can re-take control over their own oral health, to understand their disease and its causes rather than just accepting treatment.
Contact us“Doctors of the future will aim to treat less and prevent more”. We dream of a dental clinic where patients can go to and have peace of mind that:
They will only ever receive high quality dental care that uses the most modern techniques and equipment.
They are supporting business which aims to reduce the environmental impacts of providing healthcare.
They are benefiting from the advancements in modern medicine and digital dentistry, which aims to provide less invasive, more accurate, better planned treatment.Ways that we reduce our footprint
Biodegradable plastics: all of our gloves, plastic wrapping and barriers are special plastic that is biodegradable. This means less time in landfill without compromising infection control
Paperless and digital where possible: statements can be emailed, forms filled on tablets, referrals are emailed directly.
Electricity is 'green eneergy' which means that it is all sourced from renewable sources such as solar, wind or hydro.
Non-contaminated soft plastics are taken to be recyled by redcycle
Digital scanners are now being used to create a full digital model of your teeth without the uncomfortable process of having traditional impressions taken. This greatly increases patient comfort and reduces the time required. This gives us a higher degree of accuracy and allows us to create restorations with a perfect fit.
It also means that we send our labs a digital file of your teeth rather than physical impressions, and they design your crown digitally and mill it directly. This saves on material wastage, packaging and postage, as well as time!
CBCT- implant planning, more comprehensive info CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) are the ‘3D xrays’ that we will take to assess for many dental conditions including impacted wisdom teeth, planning of implants, assessing airways, infection and more. These give us a better view as to what is actually happening and allows us to better assess the risks and difficulty associated with a case. They also have an important role in implant planning, giving us the ability to assess and digitally plan the case prior to beginning any surgical treatment.
3D imaging has revolutionised modern dentistry and makes treatment much more accurate and predictable! Even more impressively, dental imaging uses cone beam technology which means that it is ONE PERCENT of the radiation of a medical CT.
One 3D dental xray uses the radiation of on average 11 days of "natural exposure" (what people get on average from day to day life, the sun etc) whereas a medical CT is about 3 years!!
Digital smile design allows us to fully plan your case, allowing you to preview your new smile right from the start. We will tailor this to your individual desires and personality, which can include creating brighter, natural looking teeth, with less crowding, ensuring that you are happy with the result prior to starting treatment.
Digital smile design is incredible as we can work with the best dental technicians hundreds of kilometers away and communicate exactly what we want, overlay them with your 3D x-rays, images and scans. We can make changes together in real time. You can view the simulation before we get it made, then you get to try in your teeth for a few weeks before they are made to make sure they are what you want!
Better communication = Better outcomes.
Intraoral cameras allow us to quickly take photos of you teeth and be able to discuss them with you straight away. These help to increase understanding of dental conditions which results in better treatment outcomes. We can also use these for monitoring and to assess for any changes in an efficient manner.
What we see is an accumulation of damage. Photographs allow as to track what is changing and how quickly.
We love treating TMD pain!
Going hand in hand with digital scanning, this allows us to create appliances customized to you, such as occlusal splints. Making these appliances in house reduces the time you will be waiting for them to be made off site at labs in Sydney and Brisbane, allowing us to help resolve your pain in a timely manner.
It also means that we can design them digitally and print out only what we need, reducing wastage of materials in taking impressions and making moulds. 3D printed splints are thinner, stronger and more accurate!
Again, treating jaw joint and muscle pain is one of our special interests! For this reason, we have invested in an amazing piece of technology - a low level laser machine which uses spacial wavelengths which penetrate into the joint and muscle to reduce inflammation and speed up healing.
Most of our patients feel instant change in their symptoms after a session!
Nobody wants to get dental treatment. What they want is a solution to a dental problem that they have. That's what we do, we listen to what you want and then work with you on a plan to get you to where you want to be.
